If we are talking about ‘online games‘, then maybe you will imagine about hundreds of megabytes or even 1-2 gigabytes of installation module you have to download and install to your computer so you will be able to play the game. Yes it’s probably right for common PC-based online game like World of Warcraft, Perfect World, Albatross18, and et cetera. But there are two kind online games; Like I’ve mentioned above, it’s standalone games that have to be installed to your computer. It’s PC (client) to server mode game, where you are using internet connection to communicate with the game’s server and then after the connection being made, you will be able to play the game as how the gameplay (depends on each games of course).

The second type is browser-based games. This type of game doesn’t require you to download anything (mostly) because it’s playable through your internet browser. There are also divided into two kind as far as I know; Browser-based games with plugin required (commonly Java or adobe Flash player plugin) and pure browser-based games.
